finalRender Stage-2 for Maya supports Photometric lights (IES file format) to render real world light situations. Many lighting manufacturers offer IES data of their lamps and light sources. This data can be used to create real world renderings with correct illumination values. Finally for the first time a 80 Watt light bulb can be shining like a 80 watt light bulb in 3D!

finalRender Stage-2 offers a physical sky simulation method that accurately represents the colors and illumination model of a real world sky environment. The light intensities created by the physical sky model are calculated in a true High Dynamic Range format. Colors and light intensities are calculated as they would appear in reality at a certain place and time on earth.
