    hi Noxco and to all of you

    noxco has asked me "privately" to explain to him how to composite
    a 3d rendered character to a live shots.


    i made the composting "matching 3d characters with live shots" on Nuke


    here we will deal with this subject.
    but i will concentrate on how we blend a render objects to a
    live shot.


    i ask you noxco "practice with me" always and all who need to
    learn to participate. practice practice practice.....

    but i will do so in paragraphs due to my time... sorry

      first ... you have to match the light and colors mode in 3d
      i mean ... if the shot is an out door lighting and is a sunny day
      so you must have a direct light and sharp shadows
      but if its a cloudy day so you must have a very soft lights
      and a very very soft shadows. fine

      so ... the important tool is the HDRI for the location coz this will give you
      the same lighting and the same color mode and this our main target.

      and after this we will need to blend this at the end in a composting
      package "like Nuke"with the background

        OK good buddy .....thanx for the concern..
        The first issue is raised now: COLOR MATCHING . Let’s start with a STILL IMAGE as to be an integration back ground for a 3D model. I assume that the viewer is aware of using a background image in maya scene, and how to do an almost perfect CAMERA MATCH.
        Now –
        1-In addition to an HDRI / FG as an atmosphere lighting source, DO WE NEED A LIGHT RIG set up for the scene ( each light with a color value of a certain point in the back ground image ) ??
        2- HOW to determine which is the most proper HDRI that matches our background? Regarding the LIGHTING and SATURATION?

            first... i meant to use the HDRI to pick the colors from it and the
            lighting ..ok

            there is a point "you catch it" which...
            2- HOW to determine which is the most proper HDRI that matches our background? Regarding the LIGHTING and SATURATION
            this is the most important thing in matching...!! and the solution
            و اللي احنا بنسميه "حل بلدي .... لا مواخذه ....!!"
            some times ... there are situations happened in some commercials
            we did .... that we couldnt be there in the shooting to take our
            HDRI ..!!
            so ... my dearest friend ahmed yousry has created a solution for
            this .... "بلدي"
            and he call it "yousryBasedLight" Loooooooooooooool
            he took an image of the sequence and wrap it on a sphere and make
            it surfaceShader to illuminate with the same color
            and we create a directional light to match the main light and to cast
            shadows

            so like this we will catch color bleeding from the same color of
            the scene..
            and this is the hardest part in our mission "colo matching"

            we do this technique "yousryBaseLight" in most of our commercials
            and its perfect.
            we did it in TEData "the above commercial"

              hey hazem... why u call that "yousryBaseLight" and i sow lots of the artists using the same teqn. for me its not new thing or maybe u guys adding something ales which i don't know!!!!! cuz just warp a HDRI on surface shader ...its not new teqn.

                    my friends ......
                    we have a target ... we need to get over this point
                    it doesnt matter whether it was an old technique or it was a new one
                    all what really matter ... is it has a big deference...?? will it give me the
                    real color bleeding ..?? the real color mode..??

                    i think there is much we can do

                          في ثلاث نقط اساسيه في الموضوع ده
                          1- matching colors by lighting "HDRI" وده اتكلمنا عنها
                          2- في ال Nuke نعمل color correction وتظبيط ال color grading وده معناه
                          تظبيط الفواتح و الغوامق في ال 3d rendered images الي ال live shots
                          3- وضع ال effects المطلوبه "depth of field, distort, dust, ...."

                              I'm stuck in creating simple light rigs to simulate a serrounding atmosphere . I did your style PANORAMIC image hemisphere for lighting.
