Tutorial: Hunter of the Deep by Khalid Al Muharraqi
Create detailed sculpts in ZBrush that can be used in other 3D applications, with Khalid Al Muharraqi
A lot of people think it’s strange that I use so many different applications. Many 3D artists tend to stick to one or two programs but, coming from the background of a traditional artist, I have no problems with mixing media to get the result I want. In 3D, I use whatever tool helps me get the result I need in order to get the job done.
Today, applications are talking to each other better than ever before, and that enables someone like me to get the best of all worlds – and enables me to ‘mix’ different technologies in order to get the results I want. This is something I hope to share in this workshop.
For Hunter of the Deep, I’ve used three main applications: ZBrush, Modo and LightWave. I’ll be going back and forth between them to show how a detailed sculpted model, created in ZBrush, can be exported and used in other applications. Read on to find out how.
