A polygon is an n-sided shape defined by a group of ordered vertices and the edges that are defined by pairs of those vertices. A polygonal object is a collection of polygons (called polygonal faces).
Polygonal objects can be either simple shapes, such as polygonal primitives.
A polygonal object can be closed, open, and can consist of shells, which are disjointed pieces of geometry.
Polygons are made up of several components:

Polygonal vertices, like a connect-the-dot picture, determine the final outcome of a polygonal model.
A face is defined as the region bound by joined edges. A polygonal object is a set of faces.
When closed, it forms a solid. This gives you the flexibility to edit and texture a model on a per-face basis.
A face is graphically represented as a solid unit with a dot in the center by default.
You can also assign textures to polygonal objects on a face-by-face basis.
An edge is a side of a polygonal face defined by two ordered vertices. An edge is represented by a straight line between the two vertices that define it.Edges that bound a single face only are border edges
Polygonal UVs are points on a polygon that are used by Maya to map a texture onto the polygon. By arranging the UVs, you can position the texture on the polygon

Proponents of NURBS modeling appreciate its capability for creating: organic, flowing surfaces such as animals, human bodies, and fruit industrial surfaces such as automobiles, clocks, and toasters smooth surfaces adjustable over broad areas with few control points
Curves and surfaces
NURBS is an acronym for Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline, a description of the math underlying the curves or splines used in this type of surface modeling. Fortunately, you don't need to understand the underlying math to do NURBS modeling.
The foundation of a NURBS surface is a curve. Surfaces are webs of interconnected curves. The curves help you create and modify surfaces. Proficiency at drawing and editing curves is an important part of NURBS modeling. You cannot render curves, so your work with them is always an adjunct to creating and editing surfaces.
Manufacturers of graphics software have various modeling methods based on different types of curves.

الانواع هادي موجودة في هوديني وليس في المايا .. حتى الاخ الي جاوبك ما جاوب عن البوليجون سوب ولا عن البازيار
ببساطة لانها غير موجودة في المايا .. لذا الطبيعي انو سؤالك هادا يكون في منبر هوديني وليس هنا ..

: polygon soup
A polygon soup is a group of unorganized triangles, with generally no relationship whatsoever.
Polygon soups are a geometry storage format in a 3D modeling package, such as Maya, Houdini, or Blender. Polygon soup can help save memory, load/write time, and disk space for large polygon meshes compared to the equivalent polygon mesh.
The larger the polygon soup, the larger the savings. For instance, fluid simulations, particle simulations, rigid-body simulations, environments, and character models can reach into the millions of polygon for feature films, causing large disk space and read/write overhead. As soon as any kind of hierarchical sorting or clustering scheme is applied, it becomes something else (one example being an octree, a subdivided cube). Any kind of polygonal geometry that hasn't been grouped in any way can be considered polygon soup. Optimized meshes may contain grouped items to make drawing faster.
:Bezier curve A Bezier curve is a parametric curve frequently used in computer graphics and related fields. Generalizations of Bezier curves to higher dimensions are called Bezier surfaces, of which the Bezier triangle is a special case.
In vector graphics, Bezier curves are used to model smooth curves that can be scaled indefinitely. "Paths", as they are commonly referred to in image manipulation programs,[note 1] are combinations of linked Bezier curves. Paths are not bound by the limits of rasterized images and are intuitive to modify. Bezier curves are also used in animation as a tool to control motion.[note 2]
Bezier curves are also used in the time domain, particularly in animation and interface design, e.g., a Bezier curve can be used to specify the velocity over time of an object such as an icon moving from A to B, rather than simply moving at a fixed ...... of pixels per step. When animators or interface designers talk about the "physics" or "feel" of an operation, they may be referring to the particular Bezier curve used to control the velocity over time of the move in question.
The mathematical basis for Bezier curves — the Bernstein polynomial — has been known since 1912, but its applicability to graphics was understood half a century later.
