Please experts, I need some of your advice on capturing analog video from VHS tapes then I need to save them for playback for the web.
My questions are:
1-Is it better if I use a deck that takes analog and passes trough a fire wire to the computer or it gives the same results as if I capture from analog ?
Because my VCR player has only RCA in/out but I do not mind bying any hardware if gives better result.
Both size and quality are important, each tape is 10 minutes length
if I capture in AVI using PCIVIDEO MPEG3 codec I still get quite big file even when I covert to .rm format.
And if I increase the compression level I loose the quality.
2- What should I do to preserve the quality and the size other than capturing for example 160X120 wich is suitable for the web?
What do you expect the final size of 10 minutes length movie or film after final conversion to .rm format?
I really appreciate your inputs and I am sorry for typing in English, unable to type in Arabic but can read Arabic if you like to reply in Arabic no problem.
